About Us:

In 1959, William (Dub) Gerrell started a logging crew consisting of a small crew and horse drawn logging. By the late 1960’s, Dub had expanded his small local clearing company to have the ability to grade the sites that he cleared. By the 1970’s the company was a capable site development contractor complete with its own fleet of truck for hauling his materials.

Michael (Mike) Gerrell started working with his father, Dub, when he was only 12 years old. By the time he graduated in 1981 he was working full time at the family business, learning all the ins and outs of the entire business. By 1983 Mike had added a pipeline division to the company. This allowed the small family business to offer their clients a more complete site package. In 1995 Mike further expanded the pipeline operations of the business by adding a boring division. This specialty work has been one of the best options for our clients in completing difficult, otherwise too costly tasks.

When Dub passed away in 2001, the family business was incorporated into Trench, Inc. The company as we know it today continued to grow and evolve with new technology over the years. During the 2007-2010 housing market crash, Trench, Inc.’s versatility and long-term client connections kept the company going where others failed. Several of our key points of contact moved to larger, stronger general contracting companies, bringing our services with them. As new connections were made and the housing market began to recover, Trench, Inc. has continued to grow and adapt with the times.

Today, Mike is accompanied by his three sons who are learning the ins and outs of the company as he did. Trench, Inc. now has over 200 pieces of heavy equipment to accomplish any project from grading, pipeline, trucking, machining, and specialty work. We utilize advanced 3D earthwork calculators in tandem with GPS controlled grading equipment to ensure the highest levels of accuracy on our projects. Our team of seasoned individuals in the industry guarantee that our projects run smoothly. Some of our project foreman and employees have been with us since the 1970’s, seventy percent have been with us for ten plus years.
